This is summer, and a lot of temporary beer gardens are popping in Boston. We are listing below some of the best one in the city or accessible by bike. This post focus on the temporary beer gardens (it does not include permanent locations with temporary or permanent outside seating like: Notch, Lamplighter, Aeronaut, Night Shift, Trillium Fenway,…..)

Trillium Garden on the Common

Located on Boston Common close to the AMC theater this beer garden is open Wednesday to Sunday. In the beer garden you will find a selection of the Trillium beer that we presented in other posts and a food truck: Taqueria El Barrio. With some live performance this is cool place for an after work beer. Dogs are allowed in the beer garden (they are usually not allowed in their year round locations). see website for more info.

Trillium Garden on the Greenway

Located on the Greenway close to the Boston Harbor Hotel this beer garden is open Wednesday to Sunday. In the beer garden you will find a selection of the Trillium beers. For the food you can bring your own food or use the rotating food truck (see website for more info). The dogs are also welcome in this location.

Night Shift Esplanade

Located on the Esplanade (about 5min walking south west from the Hatch Shell) this beer garden is also open Wednesday to Sunday. You will find a selection of the Night Shift beers, Seltzer and also some wines. For the beers they also propose some rotating small batch, as example we had some Widowmaker few years ago. For the food you can bring your own or use the rotating food truck. More info on their website. The location for this beer garden is great to enjoy the sunset.

Boston Seasons

Located on the City Hall Plaza this beer garden is often rotating breweries. For Summer 2023 the beer garden is managed by Democracy and Distraction Brewing.

Close to Boston

Vitamin Sea Kendall

Located on the Henri A. Termeer Square in Kendall this beer garden is open Tuesday to Friday from 2 to 9pm. For the drink you will find a selection of cans from some of the best breweries: Vitamin Sea, Windowmaker, Other Half, Finback… There is no specific food available on site but you can get delivery from near by restaurants. This location is great to discover some new beers.

Night Shift Alston

This beer garden is very similar to the Night Shift Esplanade, it is located on the park close to the Charles River in Alston. A good way to go there is by biking or walking along the Charles river. This beer garden is open Thursday to Sunday. Info about food and beverage are the same as the Esplanade location. Check the website for more info

Fresh Pond Beer Garden

Located on the Fresh Pond Mall near the Apple Cinema this beer garden is open everyday. You will find a large choice of drinks with cocktails and wine but the selection of craft beers is limited. This is maybe not the nicest location to enjoy a dring but it’s a very convenient one as the options are limited in the area. More info on the website here.
