April 2022 (In Boston Area – North from Boston accessible by bike or Orange subway)
We love beers but not only. We also enjoy good cocktails. So let’s try Short Path Distillery in Everett. There is no real hike in the area, you can go there from Boston by bike or by subway. On our side, we propose to take the subway, stop at Assembly Row (one station before) and walk.
The Booze – Short Path Distillery
Overall atmosphere: This is a relatively small location with a nice cozy inside area and a larger outside area. We like the inside area decoration and the overall feeling of the place. The distillery doesn’t offer food but you can order delivery food from any app.
Booze: The distillery seems to be specialized in Gin. But they also have hibiscus rum and other types of alcohol. We try a cocktail and the sour cocktail flight. We are not specialists in cocktails but the quality looks good. If you prefer beers, Bone Up and Night Shift are located super close.

The Hike – Walk from assembly Row to Everett
Hike: This is not really a hike but we feel guilty having a drink without a little bit of exercise. So we go to the distillery by walking from Assembly Row. This is a 45min walk. The first part of the walk is nice around the Mystic River. The second part is without real interest.
If you are looking for hiking gear you can find some at Assembly Row. There are Columbia, Adidas, and Nike stores. The hiking/trail products from Adidas (Terrex) and Nike are usually very good but sometimes difficult to find.
Direction: from Assembly Row go north to cross Mystick river and then east on Revere beach pkwy. Then go north to arrive at the area where Short Path, Night Shift, and Bone Up are located.
