Great Brook Farm State Park – forest and wetland short hike
Around Boston: about 30min north from Boston
Great Brook Farm State Park is a small State Park about 30min north from Boston with a farm, forest, and wetlands. This is a great location for a short hike.
Hike description
Great Brook Farm State Park is a great location if you are looking for a one or two hours hike. You will find the farm, with some animals and ice cream, the forest, and multiple wetlands. There are many trails so you can choose the loop you want to do from few minutes to a couple of hours or slightly more if you do the entire tour of the Park.
This is a cool location to see birds and to enjoy the forest. If you have kids they will certainly be interested by the farm and the ice-cream.
Hike direction
If this is your first time we advise to follow this AllTrails itinerary: Great Brook Farm, Woodchuck, Chicken, and Beaver loop trail. This is a moderate 8.4km loop with few elevation (only 84m). This loop cover most of the park. We enjoyed the wetlands and the forest around the Deer Run trail. (also available in our map at Great Brook Farm)
For parking, you will find a main parking close to the farm. They charge a 3usd fee (card accepted). You will also find restroom close to the parking.
